RIYADH: As the world marks International Women’s Day, Riyadh Air is breaking barriers in aviation, welcoming its first all-female aircraft maintenance engineering cohort.
The 27 trainees, selected from thousands of applicants, highlight the airline’s commitment to diversity and workforce development, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of empowering women.
Riyadh Air’s initiative comes as women make up just 3% of aircraft maintenance engineers worldwide. Through rigorous training, these women are not just entering the field they are reshaping it.
With 18 months of training ahead, they are eager to contribute to Riyadh Air’s inaugural flight in 2025, marking a shift in Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector and inspiring future generations.
